James Gillray. "Posting in Ireland." London: Hannah Humphrey, [5 April 1805]-later strike, late nineteenth century. Etching. Ca. 12 x 15. Hand color. Trimmed to title and laid down on period paper. Otherwise, very good condition.
Showcasing Gillray's great humor and visual wit, this print plays off English stereotypes of Irish peasants. $650
"Lismore Castle. County Waterford." New York: Currier & Ives, 1872-74. 8 1/2 x 12 1/2. Lithograph. Original hand color. Some repairs in narrow margins. Otherwise, very good condition. C:3557.
Situated along the Blackwater River in the County of Waterford, is the picturesque Lismore Castle. Though the castle itself dates back to the Twelfth Century, the current façade owes itself to architect Joseph Paxton who refurbished it under the Sixth Duke of Devonshire in the mid Nineteenth Century, a few years before this print was made. $250
